Late Dr. Okugbe's Demise

It was sad and painful, that Dr. Felix Okugbe died on 10th October, 2015 and was buried on 23rd of October, 2015 in his personal residence at Ota, near former Gateway Hotel.
According to the reliable information received, Dr Okugbe died of spine cancer, he was taken to India for treatment and but couldn't survive the operation. He left behind a wife and 3 children to his credit.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
NAFED ELECTIONS:
The newly drafted NAFED's statutes was finally ratified on 13th January 2016 and on 10th March, 2016 elections were held into various 7 executive offices of NAFED BOARD and the following people won and became the new executives of Nigeria Archery Federation's Board:

Mrs. Helen Osayimwen 1st V/President
Mr. Ayo Philips 2nd V/president
Mr. Olatunji O. Boluji Secretary General
Mr. Osaretin Emuze A/Secretary General
Mrs. Florence Ogunkoya Treasurer
Mr. Ibeh Patrick Public Relations Officer
The election was successfully conducted by three officials:
Hons. Tunde Popoola; Nigeria Olympic Committee’s Secretary General (Election Chairman),
Mr. Clement Iyalugbeghe of National Sports Commission, and with a staff of Nigeria Olympic Committee; Mrs Kemi Obidahunsi.
There were 24 qualified voters and 12 contestants vied for the 7 available executive offices of NAFED.
The elections were very successful and peaceful. Some clarifications were made and the elections were conducted simultaneously with provisions of 7 ballot boxes and there was a tied on the presidential election, but it was re-conducted for second time, where Alhaji Abdullahi finally won Mr. Orodele by 13 - 11 votes.
The inauguration of the Federation will soon be scheduled and you will be kept in view.

INAUGURATION OF NIGERIA ARCHERY FEDERATION
On July 21st 2017, the Sports Ministry and the Nigeria Olympic Committee in partnership inaugurated 31 sports Federations and given letters of NOC's Board membership to every Federation's President, including Alh. Abdullahi Mohammed.- President of Nigeria Archery Federation. |
